Das deutsche DefenseTech-Startup Ground A hat laut heise eine mobile Laserwaffe entwickelt, die Drohnen über kritischer Infrastruktur abschießen kann. Die Serienproduktion des Abwehrsystems GA 1000 startet ab dem kommenden Jahr, wie Firmengründer Tobias Brune bei einer Demonstration in Berlin ankündigte. Auf einem Testgelände entflammten die Drohnen im Brennpunkt des Lasers, blitzten kurz auf und stürzten mit einem Rauchschweif zu Boden.

Ground A Raises €9.1M Pre-Seed for Laser Weapons

Ground A co-founder and CEO Tobias Brune told Tectonic that they’ll use the money to finalize their flagship laser weapons system—the GA 1000—and start scaling up production. The goal is to start commercializing the product in the next few months, then go out for another round to scale manufacturing further. Worth noting again: The company got a prototype of the laser-weapons system up and running within just a few months of founding.
